As we settle into the back-to-school season and welcome the first hints of fall, our latest issue of 08055 Medford celebrates the people, organizations and stories that connect our community.

Inside, we take a look at Zephyr Sailing Club (pg. 8), a local nonprofit dedicated to teaching individuals how to swim and sail, and explore the important work they’re doing right here in Medford. We also visit Lenape Kiddie Kollege as a new school year gets underway (pg. 21).

In honor of the 25th anniversary of 9/11, we’re highlighting Branches of Hope: The 9/11 Survivor Tree, a children’s book by Medford resident Ann Magee that shares the powerful story of hope and resilience through the remarkable Survivor Tree (pg. 5).

As summer fades and a new season begins, we hope you’ll enjoy these stories and take a moment to reflect on the people and experiences that help make Medford a place to call home.

Happy reading!
